Flourish – Women’s One Day Retreat

C.S. Lewis wrote, “We live… in a world starved for solitude, silence, and private: and therefore starved for meditation and true friendship.”

The need for solitude and quiet as a way of meditating on, and finding true friendship with Jesus is not foreign to us and is a part of every life where there is a desire to know, and follow, God.  Jesus went into the wilderness before beginning His public ministry and Luke 5:16 says, Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.”

OCTOBER 26, 2019

Sierra Madre, CA

COST: $65

This retreat is led by Dr. Catherine Hart Weber (daughter of Archibald Hart) who, like her father, is an author/speaker/retreat leader/therapist and works in the area of Christian therapy and psychology, helping people develop a healthier body, soul and spirit.

We found this retreat through Suzanne Scott who has attended it before.  As the ladies’ team discussed planning a “silent retreat” with more time for connecting with God in quietness, Suzanne had just received an email from Flourish about this upcoming one day retreat and it looked perfect for our purposes.

The practice of solitude and quietness with God isn’t always an easy one and most of us need more of it.  This retreat will be an opportunity to “come away with our beloved“ in a way that is gently directed so we can spend longer segments of time with God.

Important to know…The location is a Catholic retreat center but the retreat is NOT Catholic in nature and the Catholic center is no reflection on the content of the retreat. Dr. Catherine Hart Weber has worked with many of our Foursquare Leaders over the years and has a biblical theology that is like our Foursquare church. She uses Catholic retreat centers because “these are usually the only places of sacred quiet and beauty around to offer facilities for retreats”.

If you’d like to participate, please sign up through the website below.  If money is a barrier and your desire is to attend, please let one of us know and we will find scholarship money to help.  Once we know who is going we will send you a list so we can work on carpools.
